September’s main news was the release of Fusion+, a breakthrough upgrade of 1inch’s intent-based swap product, which now enables seamless token swaps across multiple blockchains while also ensuring asset protection. 

With Fusion+, users maintain full self-custody of their assets, while its architecture ensures that transactions are fully executed on both networks involved in the swap without needing third-party intermediaries. 

Fusion+ leverages atomic swap technology, making cross-chain swaps secure as they follow an all-or-nothing approach. If a swap is not completed, for example, due to timelock expiration, the assets are safely returned to their original owners. 

Additionally, Fusion+ swaps are trustless, governed by smart contracts that allow both parties to exchange assets without requiring mutual trust.

Prior to the Fusion+ release, 1inch put out a white paper explaining how Fusion+ offers a future-proof cross-chain swap model that aligns with the values of Web3 and DeFi.

In other news, 1inch formed a partnership with OKX, a global Web3 technology company. As part of this collaboration, OKX integrated the 1inch Swap and Fusion APIs, improving the swapping experience for users by offering better rates, deeper liquidity and enhanced security. In addition, the 1inch dApp now supports the OKX Wallet, providing users access to a wide array of on-chain tools.

Events

In September, 1inch actively participated in several major global events. On September 12-13, 1inch supported the TUM Blockchain Conference, organized by the Technical University of Munich (TUM).

On September 18-19, 1inch backed Token 2049 Singapore, one of the year's largest crypto gatherings, which served as a crucial hub for networking and Web3 innovation. At the event, co-founder Sergej Kunz announced the Fusion+ upgrade from the DWF Labs Stage and took part in several panel discussions.

Following Token 2049, the ETH Global Singapore hackathon took place on September 20-22. In line with 1inch’s commitment to fostering ecosystem growth and innovation, the company offered $20,000 in bounties to participants, and Sergej conducted a workshop.

Lastly, 1inch co-hosted two exciting events in Singapore: Carnival by OKX Wallet ft. MemeCoin Summit and Crypto Carnival, which celebrated milestones such as 7 years of Trust Wallet, 11 years of CoinMarketCap and 5 years of 1inch.
