Here’s how 1inch made DeFi simpler and safer this year – with long-awaited products and upgrades that truly elevate your experience. 

Game-changing releases that transformed Web3

One of the most exciting releases this year was the launch of 1inch cross-chain swaps. This hotly-anticipated feature lets you swap seamlessly across L1 and L2 networks with no bridges, no gas fees and no hassle – in just two clicks. Secure and fully self-custodial cross-chain swaps are available both in the 1inch Wallet and the 1inch dApp, with over $49 mln in total volume already processed.

This milestone was made possible by Fusion+, an upgrade to our flagship product, the 1inch Swap. Released earlier this September, Fusion+ introduces a groundbreaking technology that lays the foundation for seamless cross-chain transactions.

The 1inch Card was another 2024 highlight: a crypto debit card launched in partnership with Mastercard and powered by CryptoLife. The card doesn’t just make spending crypto easier – it lets you borrow against your crypto at 0% APR through Cryptodraft and Stable Loan, potentially unlocking financial flexibility. Plus, you can earn up to 2% back in crypto on every purchase.

Innovations to elevate your DeFi journey

Strengthening security

1inch continues to lead on Web3 security and anti-crime measures, utilizing advanced technology and collaborating with partners like TRM Labs, ZeroShadow, Blockaid, Hypernative and Etherscan Pro. Our 24/7 screenings leverage both on-chain and off-chain data to detect potential risks, while the blocklist program safeguards legitimate users. This year, we also released the 1inch Security Whitepaper, reaffirming our commitment to transparency and security.

Enhancing the 1inch Wallet experience

The 1inch Wallet exemplifies this focus on safety, introducing the Scam Protection feature, which analyses every interaction to flag malicious tokens, transactions, addresses and dApps.  We’ve also upgraded key flows - including Send, Swap, Receive, Activity, Token Details and Token Management - to deliver a smoother, faster and more convenient overall experience. And the 1inch Wallet is now officially WalletConnect-certified, a mark of excellence in user experience, security and quality.

Empowering Web3 developers

For developers, we’ve introduced new tools in the 1inch Developer Portal to simplify blockchain development. The Web3 RPC API enables efficient blockchain interactions without the need to operate a node, while the Fusion+ API powers secure and seamless cross-chain swaps across networks. 

We’ve also enhanced the user experience with monthly top-up plans, the ability to assign extra users to paid plans and seamless subscription upgrades.

This year, the Developer portal supported 33.6 bln API calls and onboarded over 150 partners. With 15 APIs available, the portal equips developers with the tools they need to power a wide range of Web3 solutions, from high-performance swaps to enhanced security features.

Unveiling smarter Portfolio tools

We introduced the Explore feature to the 1inch Portfolio, helping users discover new investment opportunities across leading DeFi protocols and tokens. Whether tailored to your token holdings or general market trends, the Explore feature simplifies decision-making.

Also new, Wallet Bundles make it easy to track performance across your chosen group of wallets and blockchains – all from a single dashboard.

This year, the 1inch Portfolio expanded its capabilities with support for Optimism, Arbitrum, Base, Gnosis, ZKSync and Avalanche, as well as integrations with protocols like Rocket Pool, PancakeSwap V3, EigenLayer, Binance Staking ETH and more.

You can see your successes from the year, too - because the 1inch Portfolio also generates personalized 2024 highlights, offering a detailed summary of users’ assets and activity. These highlights are conveniently accessible in the 1inch Wallet, so you can easily review your portfolio’s performance.

Collaborations to drive mass adoption

This year, 1inch x Bruce Lee was one of our biggest highlights, uniting the spirit of Bruce Lee with DeFi to bring crypto to the mainstream. Our exciting partnership with the Bruce Lee Family Company introduced a powerful message: with 1inch, people take crypto seriousLee!

We were also excited to continue our partnership with major MMA promoter OKTAGON MMA, supporting 10 tournaments throughout the year, strengthening the bond between Web3 and a sports audience.

We partnered with top-tier companies like Mastercard, OKX, Bitget Wallet, DexNet and others to enhance the ecosystem and expand DeFi accessibility worldwide.

Growth in our global presence 

1inch made waves on the world stage by participating in 37 events, supporting a further 13 of them and hosting 6 legendary parties. We revealed major announcements at flagship events: Hong Kong FinTech Week, where we unveiled the Bruce Lee partnership alongside Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee’s daughter; and Token 2049 Singapore, where our co-founder Sergej Kunz introduced cross-chain swaps powered by Fusion+ tech.

A standout moment of the year was our presence at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, where we organized an exclusive meetup for thought leaders and innovators. Throughout the year, our co-founders delivered impactful keynotes and presentations on DeFi insights, cross-chain swaps, scalability, intents and value flows at top global events, shaping the conversation around the future of decentralized finance.

So 2024 was packed with achievements - and all of them make DeFi easier, safer and more rewarding for you. This year, we also celebrated 1inch’s fifth birthday, marking our evolution from a hackathon project into a thriving ecosystem reshaping DeFi. Year after year, we’ve addressed the biggest gaps in the space – from pioneering the first DEX aggregator to launching Fusion+ tech and cross-chain swaps. We’re proud of how far we’ve come and remain focused on expanding crypto adoption and simplifying access for everyone.
