1inch’s conference at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting

At one of the world’s most important economic events, 1inch will host a conference on the future of decentralized finance and its role in the traditional financial system.

Over the last few years, the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, scheduled to be held in Davos, Switzerland, on January 20-24, has served as an important platform for 1inch to share innovations with traditional institutions and discuss key issues in the DeFi space, such as transparency, consistency and accountability.

As in the previous three years, 1inch is organizing an exclusive event at Davos, titled "Shaping Tomorrow’s Financial Landscape Through DeFi," enabling attendees to discover the latest innovations, tackle emerging challenges and explore opportunities as DeFi continues to evolve. The conference will feature a series of thought-provoking conversations on the future of decentralized finance and its impact on the global financial landscape.

The event will host four panel discussions.

• “DeFi Meets Wall Street: Institutional Adoption in the Decentralized Era" will delve into the specifics of decentralized solution adoption by mainstream financial institutions.

The panel will feature Robert Fontaine, a blockchain specialist at Credit Agricole S.A.; Emi Lorincz, Business Development Director at Talos, and Anne Winston, Director of Strategy at Wave Digital Assets. Cointelegraph’s Managing Editor Gareth Jenkinson will moderate the panel.

• “Sustainable Crypto Growth – 2025 and Beyond” will focus on the prospects for crypto over the next few years.

Moderated by Jeffrey Ren, Chairman and CEO of OK Group, the panel will include Eric Chiang, Venture Partner at WAGMI Ventures; Quynh Ho, head of GSR Venture, and Matt Stephenson, Research Partner at Pantera Capital.

• “From Vulnerability to Victory: How DeFi Leaders Are Protecting the Ecosystem” will address legal and compliance challenges in the DeFi space.

The panelists will be Gino Wirthensohn, Chief Legal & Compliance Officer at Laser Digital; Priscilla Adams, Compliance Director at Bullish; Maha Al-Saadi, Head of Regulatory Affairs at the Qatar Financial Centre Authority, and Stephen Phillips, a senior advisor to regulators and the Industry. Hedi Navazan, 1inch’s Chief Compliance Officer, will moderate the panel.

• The conference will conclude with “Freedom, Trust, and Security: Navigating Permissionless DeFi vs. Custodial Models.”

The panel will gather Yves Holenstein, Head Custody & Staking at Bitcoin Suisse AG; Juergen Hofbauer, Head of Partnerships at Taurus SA; Sandra Ro, CEO of GBBC, and Sebastien Borget, COO of Sandbox. Coindesk’s senior anchor Christine Lee will be the moderator.

The conference will also feature a fireside chat with Clara Guerra, Co-Chairwoman of the European Blockchain Association, and Alireza Siadat, 1inch’s Regulatory & Policy Head for EEA.

Additionally, 1inch’s Chief Legal Officer, Orest Gavryliak, will deliver a keynote address on how 1inch ensures user security.

To wrap up the event, representatives of traditional financial institutions and DeFi projects will have the opportunity to connect during a dedicated networking session.
